Safaricom to reward customers with 200% bonus airtime

Safaricom (NSE: SCOM) has today announced an improved Storo Bonus Promotion that will reward customers 200 per cent bonus airtime and an additional 200MB Free YouTube bundle on hitting the daily target.

Open to prepaid customers, the promotion will run from 6th August to 20th October 2019. Eligible subscribers may opt in by dialing *460# to subscribe to Storo Bonus or check their daily usage target.

“We are always looking at ways of giving our customers more value for what they spend on our network. Customer satisfaction is a key objective for us and we believe improving our customers’ experience is vital for our continued growth,” said Michael Joseph, Safaricom CEO.

A customer’s target is based on their daily usage and can be achieved via calling, texting, browsing out-of-bundle, purchasing a bundle or charges from value-added-services such as Skiza.

The bonus airtime can only be used for both on-net and off-net calls and SMSs and is used in priority to a customer’s purchased airtime. The bonus is valid until midnight of the same day.

Stori Ibambe was introduced in 2015 as a loyalty programme that reward customers for browsing, texting and calling on the Safaricom network. The proposition was previously giving 100 per cent bonus airtime and will continue to do so after this campaign ends.
